The project carried out 16 film-elicitation groups (four per studied English region) to examine the narratives and thematic components of specialised films, and to better understand the interpretative resources that audiences bring to film watching.

In their film-elicitation groups, participants watched and discussed extracts from a selection of four films, chosen from: I, Daniel Blake (Ken Loach, 2016), Things to Come (Mia Hansen-Løve, 2017), Call Me By Your Name (Luca Guadagnino, 2017), Dark River (Clio Barnard, 2017), God’s Own Country (Francis Lee, 2017), Loveless (Andrey Zvyagintsev, 2017), The Eagle Huntress (Otto Bell, 2016) and Happy End (Michael Haneke, 2017).
