The Project carried out 200 semi-structured interviews with film audience members (fifty per English region) between 2017 and 2018.
The interviews explored people’s personal film journeys, and the role that film watching plays in their lives, including the relationships people have with film taste, venues, digital platforms, and the meanings they take away from watching different types of film, at different times, and in different places.
The white panel on the right hand-side displays a demographic breakdown of all currently displayed interview participants. Clicking on any chart will filter the results shown. For example, clicking ’18-24′ in the ‘Age range’ bar chart will limit the interviews shown to only respondents aged between 18 and 24.
To see the summary of an interview, click on the relevant pseudonym title. This will show key passages from the interview, including that respondent’s discussion of their introduction to film, and how their relationship with film has changed over their life-course. From the summary, a full transcript of the interview can be accessed by clicking on ‘Read the Full interview’ at the top right of the screen.
